Plans Approved
It was announced in
January 2006 that Edinburgh City planners have approved a £200m
scheme for this site and that the scheme is expected to be given
official during the week beginning January 9, 2006.
The scheme is being proposed by a consortium involving developers
AMA (New Town) Ltd, Grosvenor and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Proposals in the scheme are for:
- 160,000 sq ft of offices, shops and business units.
- a mini-supermarket, a nursery and a hotel
- a new public park, tree-lined roads, pedestrian and
cycling routes
- underground parking for almost 500 vehicles
