HP Robinson exhibited work in the following exhibitions in Edinburgh.  He was awarded Medals at the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th PSS Exhibitions and at the 1882 EPS Exhibition.

Fading Away

'Fading Away' was made using five negatives.  This photo created controversy in 1860 when HP Robinson explained to the Photographic Society of Scotland how he had created it.  Some of the Members did not approve of such manipulation.

Amongst the papers for the 1860 PSS Exhibition, I have found evidence of Robinson having sold 59 photographs at prices ranging from 5 shillings to 15 shillings each.

A silver medal for the Best Portrait of a Group was awarded to HP Robinson for his photograph: Here they Come.

HP Robinson sold over 100 photographs from this exhibition at prices ranging from 4 shillings to 15 shillings each.

He was awarded a Bronze Medal for papers of merit read at PSS meetings during the season.

He was awarded a Silver Medal for the best frame of 6 cartes de visite.

HP Robinson's exhibits included

-  5 cartes de visite

He was awarded a Silver Medal for the Best Portrait of a Group for his photograph 'Bringing Home the May'.  This was another of Robinson's combination prints.  It measured 40 ins x 15 ins and was produced from nine negatives.

He was awarded a Silver Medal for the Best Group printed from a single negative for 'Somebody's Coming'.

This became the PSS Presentation Print, a copy being awarded to all PSS Members in 1864.

HP Robinson was also awarded a Silver Medal for the Best Landscape for 'Deer Park, Stoneleigh.

HP Robinson's exhibits included

-  Portrait of Brenda

For this photograph, he was awarded a Silver Medal for the Best Group.  This became the PSS Presentation Print, a copy being awarded to all PSS Members in 1865.
