George Skene Keith MD 

A keen amateur Daguerreotypist.

An eminent surgeon.and member of Sir James Young Simpson’s Research Team that pioneered the use of chloroform as an aesthetic

He later set up a Private Hospital in Great Stuart Street, Edinburgh, with his brother Thomas Keith.  Thomas Keith made an extensive series of views of Edinburgh subjects in the early morning  [MIT]

He took photographs 1852-56, producing images with fine detail on waxed paper negatives.

He then abandoned photography for medicine and set up a Private Hospital in Great Stuart Street, Edinburgh, with his brother George Skene Keith 

He and his brother in Law, John Forbes White had a strong interest in painting.     [MIT]

(I have assumed that it was CGH Kinnear, rather than Charles Kinnear, below, who was the EPS Member in 1890.)

The January 1895 edition of The Practical Photographer [pp.20-21] reported the death of CGH Kinnaird, as follows:

"Colonel Kinnear, of Edinburgh died on Nov 5th.  He first suggested the use of a bellows body for cameras, and for many years after their adoption, cameras were described as fitted with Kinnear bellows.

He was the secretary of the Photographic Society of Scotland for several years after its formation when Sir David Brewster was president."
