On,
on we pressed, for the Highlands were calling loudly by now and
it was not long before beautiful Callander made its welcome
appearance.
There
was a short trip to Teith, a brief halt at Loch Lubnaig then
rendezvous at Balquhidder
Lunch
was at Loch Doine, where the party soon resolved itself into “Uppies”,
“Doonies” and “Neutrals”
The
“Uppies” climbed to the summit of the mountain. |

"The
winter 1956 outing to Hillend consisted of six members - five
with skis; one with a camera.
One
of our Vice Presidents again demonstrated his versatility by
donning skis for the first time, and not only going down the
hill without falling but managing to turn at the foot.
He
was last seen on the nursery slopes trying to produce the
perfect S curve, but he fell on the intersection of thirds.”
