Poems and Songs

At the EPS

This section begins with a poem

-     To Our President

EPS Member, “Ko-ko” was a regular contributor to the EPS Bulletin.  In these poems, “Ko-ko writes about:

a new member encountering troubles:

-     The EPS Matilda

and an experienced member:

-   William the FRPS

In 1969, “Wandered Minstrel” gave us a poem:

Of Saints and Sinners

He refers to the Disciples of St Vincent.  These were the Members who adjourned after the EPS Meetings along the road for a drink and chat about photography in the St Vincent Bar.  There, for several years in the 1980s and 1990s during the Edinburgh Festival, they displayed an annual exhibition of their work on the walls.

In 1960, a few years after EPS moved into its new Premises at 68 Great King Street, there was an exchange of correspondence in the Bulletin between night-time workers at EPS and the Treasurer.  The verse is entitled:

- Night Shift
