This photo was taken at about 5.30pm on a late February afternoon in Bristo Square. There are posters for Edinburgh University students' elections on some of the lamp posts.

Ceremonial Lamp Posts

The three lamp posts in the centre of this photo are Ceremonial lamp posts.  Several others are scattered around Bristo Square.  These Ceremonial lamp posts are the type that are installed outside the homes of Edinburgh's present and past Lord Provosts.
