Thank you to Broughton History Society (John  Dickie) for allowing me to reproduce this photograph. This photo was featured in a Broughton History Society exhibition in 2006.  The caption in the exhibition read:

"This photo from the 'Evening Dispatch, 1st September 1938, records demolition of buildings in the Broughton Market area 'to make way for a new street from Barony Street to Dublin Street'."
