David Stenhouse Yerbury's
artistic skill aided the local Morningside fundraising campaign for
"Wings for Victory" in 1943.
The Scotsman newspaper described a
fundraising meeting for "Wings for Victory" held in Merchant Hall, Hanover
Street, Edinburgh [later
to become the venue for EPS
International Exhibitions, 1982-95]
at which:
"The
walls of the hall were decorated by drawings of different types of British
aircraft, the work of Mr David Yerbury"
A
further £7 10s 0d was raised locally:
"... proceeds from throwing darts at a German bomber drawn by David
Yerbury, at shop of T Walker, tobacconist , Comiston Road."
