David Stenhouse Yerbury, brother of Edward Roper Yerbury, married Blanche Daniels in 1950. He took over the family photographic business on the death of his father in 1952. |

David Stenhouse Yerbury's artistic skill aided the local Morningside fundraising campaign for "Wings for Victory" in 1943. The Scotsman newspaper described a fundraising meeting for "Wings for Victory" held in Merchant Hall, Hanover Street, Edinburgh [later to become the venue for EPS International Exhibitions, 1982-95] at which: "The walls of the hall were decorated by drawings of different types of British aircraft, the work of Mr David Yerbury" A further £7 10s 0d was raised locally: "... proceeds from throwing darts at a German bomber drawn by David Yerbury, at shop of T Walker, tobacconist , Comiston Road." |

David Stenhouse Yerbury had two photographs accepted in the 1954 exhibition of Professional Photography in London - a portrait and an architectural study. [Sc: 22 April 1954] At the time he had recently been awarded Associateship of the Institute of Portraiture and was Vice President of the Scottish Centre of the Institute. [Sc: 22 April 1954] He later became President of the Scottish Centre of the Institute of British Photographers, and was appointed Official Photographer for Scottish Rugby Union. |
