This photo was taken on January 7, 2007.  Almost all the snow that fell four days earlier has now thawed.

Location

This view looks to the east towards Arthur's Seat, the hill, 823 ft high in the centre of Holyrood Park.  The photo was taken from the low hill near the St Leonard's Entrance to Holyrood Park. 

The road entering the roundabout from the left is Queen's Drive, leading from Holyrood Palace.

Queen's Drive continues up the hill in this photo, passing Dunsappie Loch, then down the hill to St Margaret's Loch near the NE corner of Queen's Park.

The road leading to the right out of the roundabout goes to Duddingston Loch and to the entrance to the park at St Leonard's.
