The photograph above was taken on 8 April 2003 from East Princes Street Gardens, looking towards the National Galleries at the Foot of The Mound. It shows construction work on the wall that currently separates the galleries from East Princes Street Gardens. The entrance to the new underground link between the galleries, currently under construction as part of the Playfair Project, is to be created here.
