Restoration

The photograph above was taken on 8 April 2003 from East Princes Street Gardens, looking towards the National Galleries at the Foot of The Mound.

The National Gallery of Scotland features prominently in this picture.  The Royal Scottish Academy is at the right of the picture, and Edinburgh Castle in the background.

Construction work can be seen on the wall that currently separates the galleries from East Princes Street Gardens.  The entrance to the new underground link between the two Playfair galleries, currently under construction as part of the Playfair Project, is to be created here.
