Top 40 Pages
There were a higher than normal number of
changes in the 'Top 40' Chart last month.
This may be because fewer people frond the
site through Google searches in May 2014.
Why was that? The
EdinPhoto web site still has a page ranking of 5/10 on Google - a ranking that
it has had for several years - but since 23 April far fewer viewers have been
referred to the site from Google.
The number of referrals to the site by
search engines over the past 3 months have been

The EdinPhoto web site is entirely
non-commercial, so I'm not looking for more visitors to do more business,
and I'm already receiving more emails than I'm able to cope with, so a reduction
in the number of visitors from Google in not likely to cause a problem for me -
but it would be interesting to discover the reason for the change.
I believe that Google are continually
changing their Search Engine algorithm - 500 times a year, I've read - but the
change in April this year seems to have had quite a dramatic effect, at least
for the EdinPhoto site!

Sessions and Pages Viewed
There were:
(a) 187,716
sessions in May (2% more than in
April).
(b) 745,083
pages viewed in May (7%
fewer than in April)).
(c) The average session
was 4.0
pages in May (0.4 fewer
than in
April).
