I've spent a lot of time
over the past few years visiting
Craigmillar
as people were leaving the area
and
the old houses were being demolished.
Here are some of the public
buildings that used to be in the area.

The White House
This was one of the Art Deco style Roa
Houses built in Edinburgh.
It is remembered as a pub b many
of the former residents,
but appeared to be in a sorry
state when I took this photo.

but the houses have all now been

Streets and Houses
It took me a
while to work out all the street names and house numbers.
By the time that I took this
photo, many of the house numbers had been removed from the house,
and the street names had all
been taken down and sold for souvenirs at auction in 2006 as
souvenirs.

Housing in Wauchope Crescent
This photo was taken about one
year after the previous one.
Only one block of houses now
remains in Wauchope Crescent.
That was demolished soon after
the photo was taken, but the church is still standing.
