Joint Exhibition

The  1910 Annual Open Exhibition was a joint exhibition between:

-  Glasgow and West of Scotland Amateur Photographic Association

-  Edinburgh Photographic Society

-  Edinburgh Art Union.

Entrants were allowed to enter:

-   the Glasgow exhibition for 6d per frame

-   both exhibitions for a shilling per frame with pictures being sent from Glasgow to Edinburgh free of charge.

Four Classes

There were four classes in the exhibition.

1.  Portraiture and Figure Studies

2.  Landscape, Seascape and other subjects

3.  Photographs in Colour (any Process)

4.  Lantern Slides

Edinburgh Exhibition

The exhibition in Edinburgh was open from 26 February until 12 March.

On the opening night, there was:

-   a presentation of medals at 8pm

-  a lecture, Rambles in Portugal - Illustrated by W J Croall CA FRPS.

-  a lecture by W Inglis Clerk D Sc

-  a lecture by Robert W Cockburn  LLB., WS

Exhibits and Awards

There were 270 exhibits, of which 45 received awards - 14 medals and 31 honorary mentions.
