The
Annual Open Exhibition of Pictorial Photography and Art Union was held from 24 February until
9 March 1912 at EPS premises, 38

There were 227 entries, 61
more than in 1911. The exhibition was praised in the press for its
general high level of merit, but Transactions of the EPS [ March 1912]
described the judges as adopting a most conservative policy. They
awarded only five medals, three of these being for the Lantern Slide
section. |

applied on behalf of the work of the Edinburgh Voluntary Aid
Detachments. The cost of catalogues was 2d.

British Journal of Photography reported:
"A
large entry was forwarded, and the goodly quality was
maintained."
