1954
Open Exhibition
The
exhibition was held during the Edinburgh Festival. The exhibition
opened in August 1954, at YMCA Exhibition Hall, 4 Queen Street,
Sir
Compton Mackenzie
Opening
the exhibition, Sir Compton Mackenzie said:
"We
are showing at this year’s exhibition a panel of photographs by
the late Archibald H MacLucas, whose death occurred in April of this
year.
Mr MacLucas became a member forty years ago and thereafter worked
unceasingly for the Society, occupying many offices including the
Presidency.
To him the Society owes a great deal.
He
was also one of the Society’s leading photographers in many fields though
latterly he was best known for his depiction of Scottish scenery." |
