Exhibits
from DO Hill
There
was also a number of exhibits from David Octavius Hill RSA. The
Society commented:
"Born
in 1802, he quickly showed artistic bent and became a landscape artist of
considerable repute.
About 1843, however, he became interested in photography and began
the work by which he is best known to-day.
The Society, of which he was a member, is proud to possess a large
collection of his work and several examples are exhibited in original form."
