Edinburgh Photographic Society

1915

 Open Exhibition

Decision to hold the Exhibition

It was announced in January 1915 that the Annual Open Exhibition would go ahead the following month.  Transactions of the Edinburgh Photographic Society [February 1915, p.3] reported:

The Open Exhibition is to be held from 12th February to 6th March inclusive.  This fact was announced in last month's "Transactions".

Council unanimously decided to hold it as to do otherwise was considered a minor form of capitulation to the War Lord of PotsDam

Members are to be admitted free, but visitors are to pay an admission fee of 6d which will be handed to the Funds of the Red Cross Society  for the Voluntary Aid Detachment Work."

The profit above would result from sale of photographs and entrance money paid.  There was also a 24 page catalogue for sale at a cost of 2d.
